JD's Joyrides is a proud participant in Community Day -- Sunday, July 30, 2023. It's part of Street Wise Arts' Summer Mural Series.

In addition to eBike and walking mural tours, an artist meet & greet, and a panel discussion, Community Day features the formal unveiling of five new additions to Downtown Boulder's already-incredibly street art collection.

There’s no better way to take it all in than by eBike, on an easy, fun, and relaxing joyride led by Joel (aka JD), a longtime local committed to connecting artists with audience.

WHAT WE'LL SEE

The artists for these five new pieces will be onsite, and we'll ride from wall to wall to view the work and gain some insight -- directly from the artists -- into their inspiration and technique.

Those artists include:

Moe Gram (@mi_moegram). She kicked off the Street Wise Summer Mural Series in June with an installation of a new mural in partnership with Creature Comforts.

Grow Love (@_growlove_), Danielle DeRoberts (@oneiromancy), Latasha Dunston (@jitterbug_art), and Will Barker (@willbarker.art), who are in the process of painting murals at various locations scattered across Downtown Boulder.

There will be a lot of other murals to view in between our featured stops and, time permitting, we'll take advantage of the power, comfort and ease of our eBikes to venture further afield and visit murals and other sites/sights of interest a little further from downtown.

This is a rare opportunity to catch public art works in progress, and to meet the talented and dedicated artists who make them.

ABOUT THE STREET WISE ARTS MURAL SERIES

As we strive to emerge from a challenging time marked by isolation, loss, and uncertainty, art plays a crucial role in bringing people together and promoting healing and mutual care. The new murals will create space for reflection, connection, and healing.

The new Mural Series format offers a selection of thematic murals and includes creative collaborations, community events, and special activations. Inspired by the Street Wise Boulder Mural Festival and community projects, this format brings more community-informed and accessible mural projects to Boulder throughout the year.
